Default GW Chapter Specific Events?

While reading about the Dragon Festival thing, I was thinking. This will probably be an annual thing every Summer correct? But it seems to be Cantha based, so obviously this won't be a Prophecies event. This is what I'm wondering- What if the Winter event and Halloween event are Prophecies only also? Think about it. This would encourage players to go revisit old chapters to relive these events over again, not to mention it would add more to the difference between each chapter. With this theory that'd mean each Chapter would have its own events that were annual every year. I really could care less if they did this (Considering I'll probably own every Chapter they make) But what do you guys think?

I think the major "holiday" events like Wintersday will encompass all the chapters they create. I expect Wintersday and most likely the Halloween festival to be universal, but anticipate the newest chapter always having special perk events like this Dragon's festival.

My guess is next year Factions will get the same basic holidays as Prophecies (whatever those end up being this year), and Chapter 3 will have a special event happening most likely.

Halloween will probably remain LA based for the mad king, though other cities will get decorated. Wintersday will probably move around with the dwayna and greneth avatar npcs. Day of the Tengu and the Dragon Festival will probably stay in Cantha. Who knows what else will get added.

Yup, that seems to make sense to me. If each chapter had a specific event to it (Halloween for Tyria, Summer Festival for Cantha etc.) and Wintersday was universal across all chapters that'd be fantastic.

However, I do think it's possible that Wintersday will be Tyria-exclusive, or perhaps not in all chapters. After all, by this Christmas/Holiday season Chapter 3 will have come out and hence going back and doing a big event for Factions would seem a bit unreasonable...

day of the tengu was a 1 time only thing because it was factions release.

what I think they will do is, have special events for what ever the newest chapter is, and things like wintersday and holloween will be in every chapter, which would be easy for anet, since the already have all the special skins for tyria holidays made.

I am on the fence about this one.

I think it would be nice for each place to have its own specific events, but I also like the Wintersday things across both chapters.... I am sure though that they will modify it to fit Cantha if they do do it there.

I think they should keep wintersday/holloween for every chapter, just have the mad king or whomever visit the big towns - the ones the ship goes to. Any more than that could get tasking when we're talking about 5+ chapters. Special events should be for chapters only, to support people who are buying the current game.

I hadn't thought of the fall festival being Tyrian-only until it was mentioned above. I think that is an excellent idea. Keep that one (with the Mad King) Tyrian-only, which will quell the complaints about the summer one being Canthan-only (though I'm sure new complaints will pop up, but at least it's a one-for-one tradeoff). Wintersday can be the one universal holiday (since more people are off for that than the summer or fall festivals, in various regions - not everyone, just more).

This way, Tyria will have its unique holiday (fall festival), Cantha will have its (summer festival), and there will be a universal one across the board (winter festival). One for each campaign and one for all, with future campaigns having their one unique one as well (somehow).
